About the Library
LIBRARY HOURS The Library Media Center is open 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM on Mondays and Thursdays and 7:15 AM - 2:15 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The library is closed every day from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM. CLASS VISITS: Teachers should e-mail or visit in person at least 1 day in advance to schedule a class visit. A copy of the written class assignment is extremely helpful.
MATERIALS: All students are welcome to check out up to two books at a time for recreational reading and for research. Students may borrow books for three weeks and renew their books for another three weeks. If a student loses or damages a book that he/she checked out, he/she is responsible for the replacement cost of the material(s).
PASSES: For study students, students should request a green pass from their subject teachers for class related work. (One name per slip, slip completely fillled out). Students then have their study teacher co-sign the pass and present the pass to the school librarian. Students should be given passes to work on class assignments by subject teachers only for their study periods. No passes are required for class visits or after-school use.
COPIERS: The library has one black and white printer/copier that is free for student use. There is also a color printer available for student use. Color printing is for school related work only and is limited to 3 pages per day and payable prior to printing. The library is not responsible for student errors when using the color printer.
VIDEO/DVD RECORDERS AND MONITORS: Teachers should first book equipment available through their Departments. The library has three VCR/TV units and DVD/TV units available for general use. Two overhead projectors are available on a circulating basis. Digital video recorders, tape recorders, slide projectors and other audiovisual equipment are also available on request. Equipment should be booked in advance using the form available in the library.
